Services

  • The Mechanical/HVAC team has experience in various systems including direct expansion (DX), chilled water systems, heating hot water systems, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems and a variety of other system types. Its focus is to provide energy-efficient and innovative solutions to meet all project requirements. In addition to its work with traditional heating/cooling systems, IMC also has experience with clean room applications, industrial ventilation, smoke control and other unique applications. It also focuses on the energy management-control side of HVAC and compatible systems.
  • The IMC Electrical group strives to design reliable and efficient electrical systems that integrate with the design plans of the architect and owner. The most common aspects of electrical design in any commercial facility include power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and emergency generation. Aside from its electrical subspecialties such as nurse call, close circuit T.V., security systems and access control, IMC prides itself on its broad achievements in lighting design. IMC’s lighting design expertise ranges from major sports arenas to architectural lighting and interior spaces to specialized lighting design projects. In addition to traditional commercial design, IMC has created a niche for designing electrical systems for municpal-owned industrial facilities such as drainage pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, and transportation terminals. Design experience for these facilities includes high mast lighting, large motor starting, prime and standby generation, DC battery banks and chargers for switchgear controls, SCADA systems and Process Control/Instrumentation Systems.
  • The Plumbing group focuses on traditional plumbing systems including sanitary sewer, domestic water and storm drainage. The group also has experience in fuel storage and distribution, large vacuum pumping, compressed air systems, engine cooling and exhaust piping. IMC works closely with its architects/contractors and stays abreast of all current local, state and national plumbing codes.
  • The IMC Fire team works with detection/alarm, sprinkler, standpipe and chemical fire suppression systems and has made great efforts to stay informed about the latest codes and products in the dynamic fire protection system design field.

BIM:
A TECH-FORWARD DESIGN APPROACH.

IMC employs a variety of software packages for design calculations, code research, etc. and we are proficient in developing documents in both the AutoCAD and Revit platforms. We are Building Information Modelling (BIM) capable and have experience in both local and cloud-based BIM collaborative efforts.

TRADITIONAL BID-SPEC PROCESS.

Using this established sequential project structure, IMC has effectively navigated countless successful projects to occupancy. IMC has served as both a subcontractor in the A/E team and as the project prime designer contracted directly with the Owner.

DESIGN-BUILD:
A COST- & SCHEDULE-EFFICIENCY MODEL.

IMC is experienced in the design-build project structure where the design & construction phases happen simultaneously. IMC has completed successful projects under contract with the MEP Contractor and under contract directly with the building Owner.

GO GREEN:
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING DESIGN.

IMC is experienced in the application process for certified sustainable design programs including LEED, Energy Star Ratings, and Enterprise Green Community. Sustainable design and energy code compliance as a practice is IMC’s standard of care.
