Alexandria Federal Courthouse Addition

IMC provided MEP design services for the partial renovation and addition to this historic courthouse. The renovation entailed the conversion of an existing post office into new office space and creating a new courtroom. The 2-story addition houses the U.S. Marshals as well as secure judges parking and a prisoner sally port. The courthouse remained occupied throughout construction requiring a multi-phased approach. The MEP scope included all new HVAC systems for the renovated areas, expanding the chilled water plant, modifying the existing electrical service, new lighting throughout, new emergency power systems, and minor plumbing modifications.
